Is this route right for you?
Travel from Marrakech through the valleys and Sahara to Fes, Chefchaouen and Casablanca. The longer stay leaves room for city visits as well as the desert crossing. Check the day-by-day route below to see where you have a full day and where the journey takes most of the day.
The desert is a substantial drive from the main cities. A private vehicle gives you flexibility for breaks, but it does not remove those distances. Short tours concentrate on reaching the dunes and connecting the main stops. Longer trips give more room for full days in one place. If someone in your group prefers less time in a car, mention that when asking for the route.
10 day Morocco tour from Marrakech: day by day
Suggested itinerary. The final schedule, accommodation and activities are confirmed in your personal quote.
Arrive in Marrakech
Meet your driver at the agreed arrival point and settle into your accommodation. Keep the rest of the day flexible after your flight. If you feel like going out, a short walk and an early dinner give you a gentle introduction to the city.
Time in Marrakech
Walk from the Koutoubia gardens towards the medina and the souks. The day leaves time to browse, stop for lunch and explore the streets between the main sights. If you have particular monuments in mind, tell us while planning so we can check tickets and visiting times.
Marrakech, Ait Ben Haddou and Dades
The road climbs through the High Atlas before descending towards Aït Ben Haddou. Stop to walk through the village, then continue through the Ouarzazate area to the Dades Valley for the night. There is plenty of driving between these places, so the pauses matter. Keep water and comfortable walking shoes within reach.
Dades, Todra Gorge and Merzouga
Leave the Dades Valley for Todra Gorge, with time for a short walk if conditions allow. Beyond the gorge, continue towards Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes. The camp transfer is arranged before the trip; let us know whether you would like a camel ride or prefer to discuss a vehicle alternative.
A day around the Erg Chebbi dunes
You stay around Merzouga today, with time for the dunes and a break at your accommodation. Khamlia or Rissani can be part of the day if they interest you. We agree the local visits and activities beforehand, according to availability and conditions. There is no long transfer to another city.
Merzouga, the Ziz Valley and Fes
Travel north from Merzouga through the Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas towards Fes. Most of today is spent on the road, broken up by stops along the way. Arrival depends on those breaks and the road conditions. If you would like time to explore the mountains, an extra overnight stop is worth discussing.
Explore Fes
Spend the day on foot in the Fes medina. Plan a walk that connects the areas you most want to see, with a break for lunch and time to look around. A local guide can help with the route; we will discuss guiding, entrance fees and walking distances while planning. Part of the afternoon can stay free for a café or your riad.
Fes, Meknes, Volubilis and Chefchaouen
Leave Fes for a stop in Meknes and a visit to the Roman site of Volubilis, then continue towards Chefchaouen. The journey brings several stops into one day, so plan the walking and breaks around the transfer. Spend the night in Chefchaouen.
Chefchaouen, Rabat and Casablanca
Travel from Chefchaouen towards Rabat, then continue to Casablanca for the night. Choose the Rabat stops while planning the route. If you want to enter the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, the visit needs to fit a confirmed opening time.
Departure from Casablanca
The last day is planned around your flight from Casablanca. Agree the pickup time and meeting point after your flight is confirmed, leaving a comfortable margin for the airport transfer.
